I have a Slovenian friend born here in Croatia, and in her Slovenian passport her last name has been kept original: Milić and not Milič.
The letters q, w, x, y are excluded from the standard spelling, as are some South Slavic graphemes, ć, đ, however they are used as independent letters in some encyclopedias and dictionary listings
