- What would you say to the countries of NATO's eastern flank when they say that a vote against the bill means leaving European allies? - Roy Wrona asked.
- You might want to ask Alliance member countries about their contributions. I checked recently that the United States has contributed $50 billion, and the next country, Germany, $18 billion. How are the other countries meeting their commitments? - replied the congressman.
The journalist pointed out that Poland pays for its defense. - I know, God bless Poland, because she does it the way it needs to be done. I love Poland. I have been to many eastern countries. I've been to Poland, I've been to Estonia. I've met with people from Eastern Europe there. They probably love freedom more than three-quarters of the American population. I want them to be safe," Roy pointed out.
- But they won't get help at the expense of the American taxpayer, without forcing Western Europe to support the eastern members of the Alliance. That would be the place to start," he added.
