                Well, it seems quite ok, because let's compare the situation in Vilnius (~550.000 residents). The first tram line that is still being planned is 'Station — Santariškės', 10,8km. There is the bus route no. 26, and it takes 42 min. on weekdays to reach the terminus from railway station (http://www.marsrutai.info/vilnius/?a...2&t=xhtml&l=lt). So we all can count, that the average speed is only... ~15,5km/h (including stops and loading passangers, of course) So there is one of the reasons why we discuss about the public transport in Vilnius — some people claim, that tram (or even metro) is necessary in Vilnius. I don't imagine how much You know Vilnius, but do you have your own opinion about the development of public transport in such cities as Vilnius?

                  I`ve been in Vilnius once (my Grandmother was born and lived 18 years in Vilnius :-)). Vilnius size is comparable to Poznań (556 000) and in my opinion metro solution is too expensive for such city. Having population bigger than 1 million metro idea becomes profitable. Instead of metro You should develop tram system with fast lines where it`s possible. There can even be underground stops in city center where there`s is no place on the surface.
                  Trams are efficient way of public transport, they can carry twice as much passengers as buses do, with separate trackways trams don`t stick in traffic jams and they don`t generate pollution.

                                      Pas mus po remonto irgi panasiai atrodydavo... Jau minejau, labai neblogas 280'asis dar nenurasytas stovi parke, tiesa, perdaryta vairuotojo kabina.
                                      Per Ikarusų "laidotuvių" šventę Grigelis žadėjo išsaugoti ir restauruoti tik 260-ąjį, dėl 280-ojo sakė "nea" ...

                                        O kam jie reikalingi? Kas cia paveldas kazkoks? Lietuva niekada neturejo jokios autopramones ir tai niekaip nesisieja su jos istorija. Siaip galit nusipirkti ta sena lauza ,atsiramontuoti uz savo pinigus ir isteigti muzieju,jei manote,kad tai bus pelninga:-)

                                          O kam jie reikalingi? Kas cia paveldas kazkoks? Lietuva niekada neturejo jokios autopramones ir tai niekaip nesisieja su jos istorija. Siaip galit nusipirkti ta sena lauza ,atsiramontuoti uz savo pinigus ir isteigti muzieju,jei manote,kad tai bus pelninga:-)
                                          Lenkai Ikarusų irgi negamino. O ir lengvųjų aytomobilių Lietuvoje niekas negamino. Bet kažkas kolekcionuoja, eksponuoja. Muziejuose irgi dulka daugybė paveldo, kuris nebuvo sukurtas Lietuvoje... Gal tik šia diena gyventi reikia ir tik į priekį žvelgti... Tuomet nereikia stebėtis, kai ant grėblio vis užsirauni...
