    Old Tomsk [80 photos]

    Here are the photos one of oldest city in Siberia. Was founded in 1604.
    Tomsk located 200 km northeast of Novosibirsk on the River Tom'.
    Population about 500 thousand people.

    The garden is located in the beginning of the Tomsk's main street - Lenin Avenue
    Now we're going to the centre of Tomsk along the street.


    It is the area of Tomsk State University and Tomsk Polytechnical University campuses.

      This is one beautiful city- must say the most beautiful of Siberian cities you've showed us so far
      Tomsk was extremely lucky to be away from the front lines of WWI and WWII, so most of it's beautiful architecture survived

        Yes, Tomsk is very beautiful!
        I must say there are many streets with only wooden houses, very decorative, but I didn't find them, was there for the first time.

          Thanks, Mantaz. It was my first visit to Tomsk. My trip began in the train to Nsk, then after overnight stop at the friends in the early morning I going to Tomsk morning by bus. Then after the long walk in the city I took the bus to the Barnaul's night passage.

            Yes, Tomsk is very beautiful!
            I must say there are many streets with only wooden houses, very decorative, but I didn't find them, was there for the first time.
            Thank you fot the nice pictures. It is all well and good but most of this buildings and houses was build until 1917.

              that's why it's called OldTown

              anyway, nice photos of what seems to be a very beautiful city, liked the churches, esp. the last one, though that new building in the very center with blue roof is increadibly ugly
