        A triple aciu, Docent!

Poznan certainly gets an A for preservation, reconstruction and maintenance! It's a joy and a privilege to see such wonderful facades, uninterrupted, block by block, although I'm sure there are some sad spots somewhere. The modern buildings ain't half bad, either.

The lantern lighter statue is delightful (remember the lantern lighter in Le Petit Prince ... bonjour, bonsoir). The lush baroque interior of Fara Church makes me swoon.

And be sure to say Hi for me to the half naked guy on his balcony next time you meet him!

Poznan is beautiful indeed, it wasn't havily damaged during the war, or was it?

P.S. seems that Novotel has serious problems with architecture not only in Vilnius

Some parts of Poznan were destroyed during the war - for example big part of the old town was rebuilt, nevertheless war damage was not that big (comparing to Warsaw for example).
Generally speaking you might have the feeling that the city was almost untouched during the war.
